More snow...

Went for a nice long run this morning, it had snowed last night but the temps were above freezing so there was masses of slush everywhere. Waterproof socks failed me possibly due to not cutting my toenails mean they have holes in now, which makes them a bit less waterproof. Gone for black and white as there was no colours present anyway...

Pennine bridleway, no off roaders today!

Fellrunner tracks and hare/rabbit tracks, i wonder if the runner had a pet rabbit and takes it running.

Tree above chinley churn. No sign of buds on it yet, must still be Feburary or something.

Ice dancing

Cycled into work yesterday, was a lovely frosty morning, which hid the lurking danger of black ice. Needless to say bike and I parted company at one point leading to a superman impression on the tarmac. Nothing hurt though except my enthusiasm for cycling in the cold.

Crossing the canal in Marple, very nice in the mornings.

You can cycle all the way from mine to Marple on various towpaths but it's a bit bumpy and you have to keep dodging dog walkers and their dogs so I have no patience for it.

Camera working again!

Camera seems to connect to the computer ok now, possibly could have been the usb extension cord i was using. Strange, perhaps the cats had been gnawing on it!

Three random photos to celebrate the cameras rebirth:

This was on Monday, the stream normally goes under the road but during the weekends monsoon the pipe must have blocked so now it is a ford.

A close up of some gritstone taken on Thursday featuring lichens and possibly some quartz crystals. Could it get any more exciting?

Finally, went for a ride in the rain today on Mr Speedy. I've put new bar tape on, new pedals and installed a rear rack so that it may take up commuting duties. In theory it should be more comfy on the uber potholed roads at the moment. Going to test it tomrrow by riding in!

Hmm

I seem to be having some difficulties connecting my camera to the computer, so am unable to upload this weeks photos. Not to worry though it was just more sunsets and south head. Here is a picture of a kitten to bide you over until normal service is resumed:

Ahh

Stunning sunset during my friday post work run up South Head. Sat at the top for about fifteen minutes, not a breath of wind - was certainly a relaxing way to end the week.

Eccles Pike, sun and contrails.

Sun setting over Chinley Churn.

Contrails, incredible saturation of colour, looked fake!

Inversion

Run on Thursday night was beautiful, frosty and clear once you got above the layer of mist in the valleys. Difficult to capture in a photo without a tripod and patience though! Were we treated to a great moonrise during the run too.

Wet wet wet

Out on the mountain bike for the first time this year today, it was wet. Did a nice figure of eight to Hayfield and back via the pennine bridleway.

Hayfield looking awesome in the rain.

Water going the wrong way through a drain.

Big puddles, I tried to cycle through them but got stuck half way on both leading to shin deep wading.

Inscription above one of the windows of Beet Farm, a strange abandoned farm, which gives me the heeby jeebys when i run past it in the dark.
