Wednesday exertions

Got back a bit early after visiting stoke 6th form on wednesday, as it was such a stunning day thought I'd mtb rather than drive over to Hayfield to meet up with Steve and Roy for a run.

Mount Famine and South head from the Bridleway.

Bowden Bridge - start point of the kinder tresspass, plus my bike and a bin and a notice board.

Kinder resevoir, what an amazing evening.

Nearly at mermaids pool, I was the only one with a headtorch so could enjoy the sun dissapearing below the horizon.

Springy

Did some hill sessions this evening, it's great now it's light in the evenings (well until about sixish) now, plus the weather was ridiculously nice.

Little bridge.

I am such a poseur.

Somethings on fire over Chinley way.

Did I mention its getting springy? Daffy's are out, plus the curlews have returned to the moor - i didn't see any but could definately hear some.

Lantern Pike

Had an idylic Saturday this weekend, with a nice walk up Lantern Pike with Alex and some of her friends followed by a pint in the Royal in Hayfield. Was taking it easy before the Wolfs Pit Fell Race on Sunday, in which I came 88th out of about 270 i think. Good enough for me!

Hayfield.

Brissle

Back in Bristol for Christmas 2 this weekend, had a brilliant time. Managed to get out for a run and a walk too as the weather was pretty good.

Nicely painted posh houses in Clifton.

Big lock gates at the end of the floating harbour.

The suspension bridge seen from the downs on our walk.

Leigh Woods and the river from the Suspension Bridge.

Springwatch

Getting nice and light in the mornings and evenings now, started riding into work a bit more regularly too. Took a day of riding in today though so I could go on a run after work, stunning evening!

Sun setting over Cracken Edge.

Baa!

South Head from Mount Famine.

Daffys coming up!

More snow...

Went for a nice long run this morning, it had snowed last night but the temps were above freezing so there was masses of slush everywhere. Waterproof socks failed me possibly due to not cutting my toenails mean they have holes in now, which makes them a bit less waterproof. Gone for black and white as there was no colours present anyway...

Pennine bridleway, no off roaders today!

Fellrunner tracks and hare/rabbit tracks, i wonder if the runner had a pet rabbit and takes it running.

Tree above chinley churn. No sign of buds on it yet, must still be Feburary or something.

Chinley looking cold.

Ice dancing

Cycled into work yesterday, was a lovely frosty morning, which hid the lurking danger of black ice. Needless to say bike and I parted company at one point leading to a superman impression on the tarmac. Nothing hurt though except my enthusiasm for cycling in the cold.

Crossing the canal in Marple, very nice in the mornings.

You can cycle all the way from mine to Marple on various towpaths but it's a bit bumpy and you have to keep dodging dog walkers and their dogs so I have no patience for it.
